Yes….yes, ….it’s yet another fashion blog post, about the now infamous Who What Wear for Target leopard skirt. And now “this” blog is going to show you how to wear it seven ways…blah, blah, blah!!
Ok..ok, wait!!, don’t run away!!!… here’s the thing. I am not someone who will hop on board with trends, or what’s popular on social media. And I’m definitely not someone that would be considered a follower. Then why did I drink the Kool Aid, then take a running leap, to hop on board the bandwagon to get this skirt? Because it’s freaking fantastic, that’s why!!!!! So, if Nickie, the giant sceptic, is highly recommending it, you’d better believe it’s totally worth the hype! Beautifully made, and the seaming, so flattering. And the price? Forget about it! (please read that in your best Tony Soprano voice)
I first saw the dress with the same print. I love a one shoulder dress, it’s very 70’s and very me, but I like versatility with most pieces in my closet. I made a mental note, and kept the image in a file to ponder. Dresses can be versatile, but not generally.
In my many instagram perusing sessions, I spotted (no pun intended, get it ….leopard?!! Corny? yep!) this skirt. I first saw it here, then I saw another blogger wearing it here. I was sold!!! I’m a serious leopard lover. Although, in my opinion, this print isn’t a “true” leopard, it’s more leopard “adjacent” but, we’ll call it leopard for simplicity sake. Recognizing that the skirt version would offer much more versatility, that’s all it took. I snagged it that same day.
The moment my package arrived from Target, I tried it on, and knew I’d made the right decision. Sometimes I completely crack myself up, by my reactions to clothes..like “maybe” jumping up and down, or an audible gasp!!! Hey.. hey missy, don’t judge me, I’m a stylist, kinda comes with the territory. Anyhoo…I went into my closet and began to create outfits, I had to stop myself. The possibilities were, quite literally, endless!! I didn’t want to overwhelm my poor assistant with the amount of shooting we’d have to do, to get all of the looks, so I narrowed it down to seven.
From casual days to those special holiday parties, this skirt has definitely taken up a favored place of permanent residence in my wardrobe. Allow me to elucidate(fancy word for …lemme show ya)
Night out with the girls?
Work in a creative office environment? The options are endless!!!
Pair with a gorgeous blouse like this one, or a cool graphic tee and a blazer with a pair of statement pumps.
You’re a fashion blogger and want creative ways to spice up your look:)? Just kidding.. but if you like out of the box looks, this one might be right up your alley!
Are you a mom on the go,…thinking, well ..this is real life… and for you, that means no heels?
I love these loafers, they come in so many colors and textures. They are a perfect companion to this skirt, for a casual chic vibe. And of course, my all time favorite, the classic white shirt! Of course, what mom look would be complete without the addition of a durable, well made tote bag and a pair of sunglasses, to hide last night’s all nighter, when Jimmy was up puking!! PS, who are these random children I keep referencing ??!!??!!!
Fun date night out with the Hubby?
Grab a comfortable, breathable sweater to wear with your skirt…because you never know when he might take you out salsa dancing! If you’re curious, as to the do’s and don’ts of wearing leopard accessories with a leopard garment, the answer, overall, ….it’s a do, but a tricky one. Be very mindful of how you mix the prints. As you see here, and in the girls night photo, the prints for the shoes and clutch are both very small and do not compete with or overpower the print of the skirt.
Maybe date night “in” with the Hubbs?!!!…just sayin!!
Add a sexy chunky knit, (yes… they do exist), and for you girls out there who like the look of skirts with boots, you can add a pair of over the knee suede boots, like these, or a pair of ankle boots. If going with ankle boots, just be sure they are sleek and fit tightly to the ankle, so they don’t distract from the hemline of the skirt.
And last, but certainly not least, holiday party time!! It’s going to be that season before you know it.
I’m head over heels for velvet blazers. I think they add such depth to any outfit, even just a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. I’ve chosen to add a burgundy velvet blazer, because leopard and burgundy are one of my favorite color combinations. You could swap for black, emerald green, even navy would be gorgeous. And yes, leopard IS a neutral, so just about any color would work. How fabulous would you feel at the office Christmas party, wearing this?!!!
There you have it, now what exactly are you waiting for? Go right now, click the link or walk your happy self into your nearest Target and get this skirt!!!
Unless you don’t like leopard, in which case, …..who are you even right now?!!! I kid, I kid!! I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. But, hopefully, you were entertained by this post nonetheless.
Hope this gave you some ideas, if you were on the fence about this little bundle of spotted goodness. If you’ve got any questions on how to style other than what I’ve already mentioned here, please feel free to contact me. I’ll always be willing to help whenever I can.
Go tell me down in the comments, would you wear any these looks? Which one was your fave?
